Environmental Health Concerns Everyone
Requirements in environmental health, and safety regulations are mandated in the workplace to provide for the safety of the workers. Many things come into consideration, such as clean air, quality equipment, and a safe workspace. But what happens to environmental health when we go home? Are there any dangers there?
Environmental Health is Everyone’s Concern
Take a look at our many health problems and you’ll see a reflection of our environmental health. We are all responsible to ensure that our drinking water, restaurants, pools, medical equipment and other machines with radiation and our indoor and outdoor environments are safe.
We’ve reached a time when everyone is expected to be environmentally responsible. We’re all expected to care more about our planet. What steps have you taken? Unfortunately there are times when we don’t have the ability to manage the toxins around us. But when we do have a chance to take control, then we can make a difference in our environmental health.
Environmental Health at Home
Take a look at the toxins that are in your own home. Look in your kitchen, bathroom, laundry room, and garage. You might not realize what you’ve surrounded yourself with and the dangers that lurk close by.
These irritations to the tissues and functions of the body can weaken the organs.
And with that, new auto-immune disorders, chronic and degenerative diseases are becoming more commonplace.
Knowing now how these environmental health risks can effect you, think about what you should eliminate around your home.
Some things to keep in mind when bringing things into your home. Check for artificial sweetners and food additives, sulfates, artificial colorings and preservatives, meat preservatives like nitrite and nitrate, transfatty acids, foods that have been genetically modified, pesticides, heavy metals, chemicals in carpets and fabrics, paints and chemicals in household cleaning products.
The use of “green” products will help you avoid these damaging chemicals. Look for chemical-free ingredients. Taken one step at a time, rather than being overwhelming, it can be completely achievable.
